Terms of Service
Last updated: October 26, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to the Swoopy browser extension and these pages (together, "Swoopy"), provided by the developer of Swoopy ("we", "us"). By installing or using Swoopy you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please uninstall Swoopy.
1. What Swoopy does
Swoopy lets you download images from web pages, copy them to your clipboard, view their colors and file details, edit the colors of SVG images, and export code based on them. All of this happens on your own device. Swoopy is a tool; like a browser's own "Save image as…", it does not decide what you use it for.
2. Your responsibility for the content you use
- Swoopy gives you no rights to any image. Images, icons, logos, illustrations and photos on websites are usually protected by copyright, trademark or other rights, and are owned by their creators or the website. Being able to see or download an image does not mean you are allowed to reuse it.
- You are solely responsible for what you download, copy, inspect, edit, export or share with Swoopy, and for making sure you have the right to do so. That includes respecting copyright and licenses (for example, "personal use only" or "attribution required"), trademarks and brand guidelines, and each website's own terms of use.
- Editing doesn't change ownership. Recoloring an SVG, converting it to code or turning it into a PNG does not make it yours or remove the original owner's rights.
- People's images and personal data. Photos of people and image metadata (such as the location where a photo was taken) can be personal data. Follow the privacy laws that apply to you before keeping, sharing or publishing them.
- When you're unsure, ask the owner for permission or use images that come with a clear license.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Swoopy to:
- infringe copyright, trademarks or other intellectual-property rights, or help others do so;
- get around paywalls, DRM, logins or other technical measures that protect content;
- collect images or data in bulk from websites in breach of their terms (scraping);
- harass, stalk, impersonate or harm anyone, or collect personal data unlawfully; or
- break any law that applies to you.
4. Third-party websites, names and software
Swoopy works on websites run by others. We don't control those websites or their content and are not responsible for them. Swoopy is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google, Chrome or any website or brand whose images you use it on; their names and trademarks belong to their owners. Swoopy includes icons from Hugeicons under the MIT license.
5. Your privacy
Swoopy works on your device and doesn't collect or send your data anywhere. See the Privacy Policy for details.
6. Optional support (donations)
- Swoopy is free. Any money you send through our Support page (for example via Buy Me a Coffee) is a voluntary gift.
- It is not a purchase: it doesn't buy any product, feature, service, priority support or guarantee that Swoopy will keep being developed.
- Support payments are processed by third-party platforms under their own terms and privacy policies. We don't receive or store your card or bank details.
- Support payments are generally non-refundable, except where the law where you live gives you a right to a refund.
7. No warranty
Swoopy is provided free, "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises or warranties of any kind, including that Swoopy will be error-free, work on every website, keep files or history safe, or be fit for a particular purpose. Image details Swoopy shows, such as colors, file types and camera data, may be incomplete or inaccurate.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits or legal claims, arising from your use of Swoopy or of any content you obtain with it. Our total liability for any claim relating to Swoopy is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
9. Your responsibility to us
If someone makes a claim against us because of how you used Swoopy or content you obtained with it (for example, a copyright claim over an image you reused), you agree to be responsible for that claim and to cover the reasonable costs it causes us, to the extent the law allows.
10. Changes and ending
We may update Swoopy or these Terms. If we make significant changes to the Terms, we'll update the date above and, where reasonable, mention it in Swoopy's store listing or release notes. If you keep using Swoopy after a change, the new Terms apply. You can stop using Swoopy at any time by uninstalling it, which also deletes its saved history and settings from your browser.
11. General
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute about Swoopy or these Terms will be handled by the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. This doesn't take away any rights you have under the consumer-protection laws of the place where you live. If any part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about Swoopy.
