What Swoopy accesses
- The page you right-click on. When you choose a Swoopy menu item, Swoopy reads the elements under your cursor to find the image. It doesn't read or record anything else on the page.
- The image file. To download, copy or inspect an image, Swoopy requests it from the website that hosts it, the same way your browser does when it shows the image.
What Swoopy does not do
- No analytics, tracking or advertising.
- No data is sent to the developer or any third party. All analysis and editing runs on your device.
- The image you're inspecting is kept in temporary browser memory and cleared when you close the browser.
Image history
Swoopy keeps a list of the images you downloaded or inspected (image address, page title and page address) so you can find them again. You choose how many it keeps, up to 100, or turn it off in Settings. Small inline images, such as icons, are kept with their image data so they can be reopened. This list is stored only in your browser on this device, is never sent anywhere, and can be erased at any time with "Clear history" in Swoopy's Settings. Uninstalling Swoopy also deletes it.
Clipboard
When you choose "Copy Image", Swoopy puts that image on your clipboard so you can paste it elsewhere. It only writes to the clipboard when you ask it to, and never reads from it.
Your settings
Your Swoopy settings (which items appear in the right-click menu, how much history to keep, and the panel theme) are saved with Chrome's built-in sync storage, so they follow your Chrome profile if you use Chrome Sync.
If you support Swoopy
Donations go through Buy Me a Coffee, a separate service with its own privacy policy. Swoopy itself doesn't see your payment details. Buy Me a Coffee may share your name, email address and any message you write with us so we can say thanks; we use them only for that and never sell or share them.
